Introducing the Frosé, the hottest drink to get acquainted with at the Pelicano Frosé Garden Terrace!
As I endured the longstanding Sydney winter, my Instagram feed was alight with Euro Summer vay-cays. Whether you were stuck behind your desk, like me, or one of the lucky ones frolicking in the European sunshine – you must have come across a few Frosé snaps on the gram. Arguably the hottest and most instagrammed new alcoholic beverage to hit the U.S. and Europe this year, the Frosé is an innovative cocktail consisting of rosé sorbet surrounded by sparkling rosé wine and often infused with fruit.
In celebration of this gorgeous summer invention, Pelicano in Double Bay has transformed its terrace into a sea of all things rosé. The terrace has bloomed into a glorious rose garden, equipped with two ‘Frosé’ slushy machines – one to please those with more of a fruity palate, and the other for those who prefer their wine dry. Say goodbye to your seasonal depression and step into the sun with this fun cocktail trend at the Pelicano Frosé Garden Terrace!
Pelicano Owner Andrew Becher said he was introduced to the ‘Frosé’ epidemic via his travels throughout the U.S. and Europe this year, and wanted to introduce it to Sydney in time for the warm weather. The Frosé’s origins are unconfirmed, but it is said to be created by fluke when a New York City mixologist from Bar Primi decided to see what would happen when you put rosé wine in a slushy machine. The result being delicious ‘Frosé’. Oh how curious minds can create such beautiful inventions, our lives have changed for the better!
The Pelicano Frosé Garden terrace launched on the spring equinox and is open throughout spring and summer from 5pm daily Wednesday through to Saturday – be sure to head down for some floral, fruity, Frosé fun!
