Located in the heart of Newtown, Old City Kitchen & Bar is now serving up a new menu of absolutely delicious Middle Eastern meets Mediterranean dishes created by Executive Chef, Chrys Xipolitas.

The interiors, menu and ambiance of Old City Kitchen & Bar are influenced by an ancient region called Levantine which covers the Mediterranean part of the Middle East including Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine. Old City passionately works to recreate and rediscover traditional family recipes.

Start off your dining experience at Old City Kitchen & Bar with a mezza plate featuring delicious taramasalata, hummus, baba ganouj, tzatziki, feta, olives, pickles, cured meats and pita bread triangles. With a mezza plate this delicious it’s hard not to stuff yourself up before you even start your entrees!

Entree highlights include stuffed zucchini flowers, new city prawns and calamari, island salad topped with feta foam and of course the mouthwatering light, fluffy and non-squeaky homemade haloumi topped with fresh mint & grape salsa, dressed with a balsamic glaze (literally the best haloumi I have ever had!).

The main dishes are designed for sharing and include heavenly braised 3hr cooked octopus, za’atar chicken, old city prawns (perfect for a winter warmer), char grilled spatchcock and a Mediterranean salad with prawn cutlets, chicken pieces, octopus, pan fried, tossed in olive oil, lemon, garlic chilli, parsley served on a salad of baby rocket, cucumbers, spanish onion & olives.

As well as an extensive and delicious food menu, Old City Kitchen & Bar also has a delectable and vast bar menu featuring cocktails, wine and beer to suit all taste buds. Try their Ameretto Sour, it goes down a little too easily!

Old City is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Grab a cocktail from the marble bar and enjoy it on the terrace, relax with a romantic dinner with someone special, gather the whole crew for lunch or book a function in the luxe private dining room.
