Guests enjoying BAILEYS cocktails and Japanese inspired canapes at fabulous Crane Bar in Potts Point. With this week being fashion week in Sydney the makeover was complete with Baileys partnership with up and coming fashion label Blessʼed are the Meek.
A well-dressed crowd included Samara Weaving, Simone Holtznagel and designer Maria Maung. Guests sipped on the delicious BAILEYS ESPRESSOTINI and BAILEYS VANILLA showcasing the smooth Irish cream as this seasons must have uber chic drink.
The collaboration from the night saw the new BAILEYS bottle brought to life in a series of captivating lifestyle images shot by renowned fashion photographer Sonny Vandevelde, in the inspiring West MacDonnell Ranges located in the Northern Territory. The West MacDonnell Rangesʼ breathtaking sandstone cliffs and gorges provide a remarkable and natural backdrop for the striking new black and gold BAILEYS bottle. The images also showcase a sneak peak of Blessʼed are the Meekʼs 2014 Spring Summer range, with fabrics from the collection cascading beautifully around the new BAILEYS bottle.
A fact Sydney Social learnt last night that BAILEYS Original Irish Cream is the also the world’s biggest seller in its field, with over 82 million bottles sold worldwide each year. Every minute of every day over 2000 people around the world are enjoying a Baileys!
I’ll grab my BAILEYS ESPRESSOTINI (or four) and cheers to that. Also very impressed with the new Japanese fused Crane Bar in Potts Point. Great refurbishment of one of the fab spaces in Potts Point.

FIRST IN, BEST DRESSED AT THE 3 WEEDS THIS MELBOURNE CUP
Suits and frocks, fillies and jocks, Melbourne Cup unites style queens, gamblers and equine enthusiasts once a year and this November, Rozelle’s 3 Weeds restaurant brings the festivities to Sydney with a Carnival Cup Luncheon for all.
The Restaurant at 3 Weeds brings all the fun and excitement of Flemington to Rozelle with an elegant Melbourne Cup day menu devised by Head Chef Leigh McDivitt.
Large screens provide ample views of the racing action, while sweepstakes and prizes for best dressed make for some great fun off the track.
True to tradition, toast with a glass of bubbles on arrival, before indulging in a 3 course spring luncheon with entrees such as Camomile tea smoked quail with hand-picked crab, basil, sweet corn and ginger jus gras.
For those looking for a more casual experience, ‘Picnic In the Bar’ entails a gourmet hamper for 5, filled with delights such as Chicken & tarragon terrine and smoked salmon, dill & crème fraiche. The $150 hamper is perfect for a relaxing long ‘picnic’ lunch and comes with the promise of dry weather, unlike the imminent rain Melbourne is infamous for.

There will be prizes for Best Dressed Male and Female so don your race day best and join the 3 Weeds this Melbourne Cup!

Yesterday Sydney Social 101 had the absolute pleasure of attending the Deshabillé Blogger Lunch at The Village, Gold Room in Potts Point.
Sydney Social 101 was in great company with 15 prominent bloggers from in and around Sydney. We were invited to the hot new Sydney bar, The Village in Potts Point to celebrate the collaboration between Deshabillé and Pink Hope.
We were joined by Deshabillé founder Roslyn Gleave and Pink Hope founder, Krystal Barter who talked to us about the collaboration and what we can do to help!
Deshabillé has joined forces with Pink Hope- Australia’s first community that provides accredited information and support for young women and their families who have a high risk of breast and/ or ovarian cancer. www.pinkhope.org.au
Even better, you can shop with a conscience as with Deshabillé’s Pink Hope range, 50% of all proceeds will go to the charity.
Throughout the lovely lunch event at The Village, Gold Room, we were treated to Pimms, sparkling wine and amazing canapés! They includes meat platters, calamari, arancini balls and pizza.
Pink Hope was founded by Krystal Barter who, sadly has been surrounded by breast cancer all of her life with four generations of her family suffering from it. Her family unfortunately carry the rogue gene BRCA1 which increases a carrier’s chances of developing breast cancer anywhere up to 85%. She always knew that she had a high risk of developing breast cancer but when she discovered that she carried the BRCA1 gene- the consequences really hit her. She decided to have a preventative mastectomy at only 25 – she has two children and decided that it was not worth the risk.
Pink Hope offers support and an expert team to help women through such situations.
As we departed we were treated with the most amazing goodie bags that contained a pair of the Pink Hope Deshabillé PJs, Clinique make-up, a lovely candle and a stunning bunch of flowers by Kavelle Flowers (below)!
The reason why I love Deshabillé so much is due to the quality and design of the collections!
Deshabillé, has the philosophy that everyone deserves to look and feel beautiful during their home time – that we should all be able to relax in comfort while also looking stylish; that we should be able to go to bed wearing pyjamas that not only feel beautiful against the skin but help us feel sexy as well; and that we should be able to wear warm and comfortable lounge clothes that also make us feel special. You know what, I blumin’ well agree!
So there are no more excuses for spending another minute at home in those saggy track pants and that ten-year-old hooded XXL size jumper. The Deshabillé beautiful sleepwear, loungewear, knitwear and beachwear has been designed to keep you looking gorgeous and feeling fabulous while you enjoy your down time.
Deshabillé was formed in 2006 by Roslyn Gleave and are based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It is stocked in around 100 boutiques across Australia and internationally in New Zealand, Canada, USA, Japan, The Netherlands and Lebanon.
Deshabillé works closely with a talented artist to exclusively design many of our prints and are known for our sophisticated, fashion-forward prints & luxe fabrications.
Finally, Deshabillé releases two collections each year: The ‘Summer’ collection consists of sleepwear, beach dresses & beachwear. The ‘Winter’ collection consists of sleepwear, loungewear & knitwear.
Here at Sydney Social 101 we certainly are gearing up for what is set to be a fabulous, fun-filled long weekend!
Tonight we’re off to Cantina and Corner Bar in Balmain as guests to sample the amazing news menus! Full reviews to follow over the weekend – we’ve been told to look out for the Espresso Martini at Corner Bar and a Twisted Margarita at Cantina Bar as they are the way to go apparently! Sounds like a plan!
Tomorrow is just as action filled! At 12:30pm we’re heading off to Bucket List for a reservation to sample the lunch menu for Spring, with perfect panoramic views of Bondi beach, and uber crowd and beers on tap – we can’t imagine that we’ll be disappointed!
Following on from Bucket List, we’ve been invited to review The Island Bar on Cockatoo Island – which is renowned for its harbour views and yummy cocktails, my biggest highlight however is the water taxi over to the venue – life’s small pleasures hey, ha! Sydneysiders and visitors can enjoy Harbour Bridge views from iconic Cockatoo Island, just a 12 minute ferry-ride from the city, in the comfort of an exclusive custom-designed bar space with great drinks and food, and cocktails served either by the glass or in jugs perfect for sharing on a warm afternoon. If you’re keen to head this weekend, check out the website: http://www.theislandbar.com.au/
To complete an action packed Saturday, Sydney Social is heading back to our Manchester roots and celebrating all things Northern Soul as we head to Hard Rock Cafe as part of the Soul Weekender celebrations. If this is your bag and you want to catch up with like-minded people, check out this link here
On Sunday Sydney Social, along with half of the Eastern Suburbs is descending into Manly to celebrate a Monday off work! First port of call is Manly Wine as they have a chocolate wheel at the venue all weekend – hello please!
We’ll also be swinging by 4Pines, we LOVE their own brews and will be sampling the following in celebration of Oktoberfest Fest – German Pils 5.2% | 42 IBU’s, Märzen 5.2% | 23 IBU’s, Dunkelweizen 4.8% | 17 IBU’s and Doppelbock 7.2% | 21 IBU’s.
Another Manly FAVE is In Situ, the most amazing cocktails, live acoustic performances and chilled out crowd, if you’re heading manly-side – pop this on your hit list, stat!
However if you’re heading this side of the bridge (bt this side I mean East J), there are some great celebrations at Gazebo at Potts Point. They plan to transform the already quirky and beautiful Gazebo into a celebration reminiscent of Gene Wilder’s chocolate factory, complete with chocolate fountain and three-course bubblegum*.Held over the entire October long weekend, this promises to be an amazing event for young and old. There will be a chocolate fountain (YUM!) Fri – Mon, a chocolate installation will be installed staff dressed in purple themed outfits.
There will be a few chocolate inspired beverages – one where the bar staff will use the chocolate fondue. We will also have the chocolate wheel spinning all weekend!
Over in Surry Hills, The Winery will be celebrating all things Surry Hills! For three whole days! Street art! Fashion! Food! Wine! Stay!
All in all, you simply have no excuse to not go out and get involved!
Happy Long Weekend everyone! Have a good en’ and stay safe x
